Wahoo for the Zoo!

The Phoenix Zoo is running a special this summer that they have never done before- kiddos are free! So we took off last week early one morning to go. The weather here has been fabulous- highs in the mid 90's so it started out nice and cool...In fact it was early enough and cool enough that all the animals were awake and running around for once! This tiger was amazing- he was roaring SOOO loud and prowling around everywhere- the kids LOVED it. I had never heard a tiger roar so loud- he either was really mad or just putting on a great show for us.Dover, Marcus and JJ came with us and we were so glad they did- it made it that much funner! The kids also loved the prairie dogs! They were the funniest little creatures to watch- digging and climbing on the logs and reaching up in the air for some imaginary something. The kids were all laughing- they were pretty entertaining. The Zoo has the funnest new water feature- it's like a cave inside with waterfalls, a little water slide, shooting water, a stream, etc. The kids had a blast and it was a great way to cool off after we had seen most of the animals.
The girlies said the water was a little chilly but had a great time running around in it anyways! The waterfall was probably the hit with our kiddos- so fun. And then I loved these pics of Marcus and Colby- Marcus is always so cute with Colby and great to include him, help him, and play with him! In these pics you can see Marcus' hand on Colby's back - Colby was a little tentative to go inside the cave but Marcus made it so much fun and talked with him and hung out with him almost the whole time. Colby had a blast. Thank heavens for great cousins- Colby definitely has a lot of love for Marcus!
One last goodbye to the giraffes! One of my favorite animals! We got snow cones and then headed off on our way. Thanks Dover for your help- it was a fabulous time!
