I found a new fun blog http://blonde-designs.squarespace.com created by two girlies who also are card/stationary designers. They have fun recipes, party ideas, practical every day tips and tricks. Anyways, I loved this idea that they have of having your child pose with a sign saying what year they are starting school on the first day and who their teacher was...
how old they are turning on their birthday...
or for babies (yes I am on the lookout for fun and new baby ideas!) to take a pic of them at every month milestone. They change so much every few weeks!
They sell the cards on their website but it is easy enough to design and create your own with the color scheme you want.... it would even make a great baby gift! How fun would even a scrapbook of 1st Year Milestones be as part of their baby books... with these pics and what new things they were doing each month? I sure wish I would have kept better track on that stuff for my other kids... Their poor baby books were neglected after a first few months and I feel so sad I didn't record their milestones better. If I had these printed up and ready to go on the day of the birth every month maybe I would be better at keeping track?
Just as I look through my own baby books I also thought this idea would make scrapbooking the events so fun and easy! It keeps things organized and makes it clear how old the child was when starting what grade, or what birthday, etc. Plus if you are behind in scrapbooking like I am, it will be super easy to remember what birthday it was as you go back! New Years Resolution: Organize all the kiddos pics and scrapbook stuff and get going on it again!
